Suspected Colorado Springs DUI crash causes multiple injuries
COLORADO SPRINGS, CO -Police in Colorado Springs were forced to shut down a busy roadway following a suspected DUI collision Tuesday evening.
According to KKTV, the incident occurred within the intersection of Platte Avenue and Troy Hill Road near Citadel Mall shortly after 5 p.m.
Investigators say the crash occurred when an SUV attempted to cross onto Platte Ave. from Troy Hill Rd. without paying attention to the posted stop sign. The driver then attempted to make a left turn while in the right-turn-only intersection and collided with another SUV traveling eastbound on Platte Ave.
Both drivers were transported to local hospitals in serious condition.
The driver responsible has been identified as Cesar Rodriguez-Santiago
