News: UPDATE: Victim of fatal Colorado Springs cycling accident ID’d
COLORADO SPRINGS, CO – The Colorado Springs Police Department has released additional information about Sunday’s fatal automobile vs. bicyclist accident, including the name of the victim.
According to their website, police received reports of a collision at Centennial Boulevard and High Tech Way at 12:31 p.m. They believe that 74-year-old Colorado Springs resident Richard Timberlake cut across several lanes of traffic before being struck by a southbound black Subaru.
Emergency responders transported Timberlake to a nearby hospital, where he died. He is the 42nd person to die in a Colorado Springs traffic accident this year.
No charges are expected to be filed against the driver of the Subaru.
