News: 1 killed, 5 injured in SUV rollover accident in Aurora
AURORA, CO – One person was killed and five others were injured Sunday morning when the 2003 Ford Expedition they were traveling in fell off the I-70 on-ramp at Pena Boulevard.
According to Fox 31, the driver of the vehicle failed to account for the curve in the eastbound on-ramp. The vehicle crashed through a flyover barrier, rolled down an embankment, and ejected five of its six occupants before landing in a drainage ditch.
Emergency responders rushed all six people to nearby hospitals. A 56-year-old man was declared dead some time after admittance.
Investigators with the Aurora Police Department believe that drugs and alcohol were factors in the crash. They plan to charge the driver after they complete their investigation.
