News: 1 dead, 6 injured in head-on collision in Colorado Springs
COLORADO SPRINGS, CO – A woman was killed Sunday when a pickup truck collided head-on with the SUV in which she was a passenger.
KRDO reports that the incident occurred shortly before 3 p.m. on Marksheffel Road, about a half mile south of Drennan Road. A pickup truck that was towing a second pickup truck on a flatbed trailer was headed south when its driver lost control and entered the northbound lanes, colliding with an SUV.
A woman who was a passenger in the front seat of the SUV was pronounced dead at the scene. Its driver and five juvenile passengers were transported to a local hospital for treatment of injuries not deemed life-threatening.
Neither the driver of the pickup truck nor its passenger were hurt.
