Lakewood police arrest suspect in major New Year’s Eve collision
LAKEWOOD, CO – Police in Lakewood arrested a 34-year-old man in connection to a New Year’s Eve crash that left multiple people injured.
According to CBS 4, the accident occurred at the intersection of West Alameda Avenue and South Vance Street in the Belmar neighborhood.
Police believe Joshua Mayo, 34, ran a red light and collided with an oncoming vehicle within the intersection. He then attempted to flee the scene of the crash but was stopped by witnesses at the scene.
Multiple people in the other vehicle were reportedly injured as a result of the crash. Their identities and conditions have not yet been released.
