Driver crashes into Colorado Springs townhome in suspected DUI crash
COLORADO SPRINGS, CO – A suspected drunk driver was arrested after careening into a townhome and striking a gas meter early Saturday morning.
According to KKTV, the accident occurred shortly after midnight at a residence near the intersection of Union Boulevard and Fountain Boulevard.
Police say the driver, who has been identified as Anthony Vigil, was speeding and under the influence when his Chevrolet Camaro jumped the curb and crashed into the home.
A witness to the crash immediately pulled over and helped Vigil out of his vehicle and immediately alerted the occupants in the home to the smell of gas.
Vigil is facing a number of charges in connection to the crash, including DUI.
Fortunately, no one was seriously injured as a result of Saturday’s collision.
